Today, time for left wingers. I had an awful problem with this position – not too many candidates and when I had few more, I came to the conclusion that they are not up to the standards of this modest blog. That’s why only three players make it to the list and following two are mentioned off it. We had several players over the year but now there is no depth and often managers use footballers from right to play them on the left. Another position where we have serious problems?

3rd place – Patryk Małecki (Wisła Kraków, Poland, 01.08.1988, 170/70)
Such gifted player wastes his focus, qualities for continuous shouting at referees and opponents, diving, demanding cards, penalties, fouls, throw-ins… Everything can make him swear these days on the pitch, anything. Most hated player in Ekstraklasa? Probably. He is gifted as I said, great dribble and technique, fighting for the ball but… his behavior is simply unacceptable to achieve anything as a player.
2nd place – Maciej Małkowski (GKS Bełchatów, Poland, 19.03.1985, 170/65)
This was his best year so far in professional career, without any doubt. Some fantastic performances for GKS Bełchatów attracted other clubs and if the price will be right, he will move on soon as his qualities are good enough to give him place in top Polish teams. Fantastic dribbling, his technique is as good.
1st place – Ludovic Obraniak (Lille, France, 10.11.1984, 174/72)
Our best player at this position by some distance. Always looking for a goal, his drive forward, technique and pace stand out. Some sensational stuff this year in national team after steadily settling in the squad. Hopefully he gets his chance in better club as I think that he may soon become too big for Lille. If he reaches his potential, of course.
Worth mention: Kamil Kosowski (Getting old but still has some qualities that so many Polish players lack. Maybe not playing in the best of leagues and also having problems to break into Apollon squad) and Maciej Rybus (I really thought that he will be our best player very soon at this position but it seems that this young man lost his head already, at the start of his career. Great potential but other things distracted him from football, unfortunately).
