Polish Weekend #2

After really poor display of Polish teams during the international week (National team lost 0-3 with Cameroon, U-23 lost with Northern Ireland 0-2, U-19 lost twice with Sweden), we are back to the league. We should all be grateful for those weekends with Polish football only - we get some good games (although there are poor ones), nice goals, we can be excited about players... And all in all, nobody, no team from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Estonia or so on will show us how poor we are.

EKSTRAKLASA We start on Friday and it's big. Firstly, we are off to Kraków where Cracovia starts their season with home game against Śląsk. Both teams appear to have a new look, new quality players and new ambitions to be in Top 5. Shame it is not played one month later, it would be on new Cracovia stadium. But after this game it gets bigger - Warsaw derby. It probably wasn't that big and exciting for years - both clubs spent big sums on new players, changed rapidly their teams... expectations are championship only for Polonia and Legia. If You are looking for a game to watch this round in Ekstraklasa, search for streams and tune on this one - it will be worth Your time (game starts at 20, GMT+1).

Saturday looks much calmer than previous day but it still got some interesting games. Jagiellonia starts season on their stadium with game against GKS Bełchatów and guests impressed week ago, even though they were weakened during this transfer window. In probably least impressive game this weekend, tipped for relegation, Polonia Butom hosts Lechia Gdańsk, team wisely build but having problems with their fans. Current champions, Lech Poznań will hope that they finally gets the win after five games in supercup, Europa League and Ekstraklasa. Challenge is not that tough as Arka visits them - a team without any interesting striking force, counting for a draw and any luck they can get. Unlikely, though. Last game on Saturday doesn't look impressive but really has something in it - Zagłębie Lubin plays with Górnik Zabrze, and both teams have something to prove after first week.

Sunday and we have two games, Korona Kielce is lucky enough to play twice in a week on their stadium and this time against Widzew Łódź. Both teams have one point each but the hosts look more likely to get three points this time. Last game of the weekend looks good as well, teams that had pathetic time in Europa League plays in Chorzów with Wisła visiting Ruch. Guests are still looking for new manager, while hosts are still looking for a striker. Who will find the net, then?

SPECIAL On Monday, we have a game from first round that was scheduled for this day because Legia played with Arsenal. Now they play with Cracovia, on their new stadium, and we will see how many fans will turn up when team is without Eboue or Fabiański.

1st LEAGUE We start with four games on Friday which is not typical but should be exciting. Górnik Polkowice got promoted last season and now plays against MKS Kluczbork - interesting because in both teams there are players loaned out from Śląsk Wrocław (Biliński - Góral, Jędrzejowski). The most interesting game of the week is contest between ŁKS Łódź and Piast Gliwice, teams that are top of the table. Both fighting for promotion and shame it is broadcast in the same time as Warsaw derby match. Odra Wodzisław plays with Górnik Łęczna and GKS Katowice must finally rise to the expectations and win their game at home against Warta Poznań.

Then other promotion candidates, Pogoń Szczecin, visits Flota Świnoujscie while KSZO plays with Dolcan Ząbki - both teams will have problems to stay in the league. Sunday starts in the country, where in front of 800 fans, LKS Nieciecza will play against Podbeskidzie. Good game should be seen in Radzionków where Ruch hosts Sandecja. In last match, Kolejarz plays with GKP Gorzów Wielkopolski, also teams from bottom of the table.

Enjoy the weekend, You can find the streams HERE.
