Ekstraklasa Action Round-up

Unexpected results, nice goals... good crowds also. No manager sacked but one is really close to being jobless, many players on transfer lists and even more of them wanted before window shuts. So when the fax machines in clubs are going really hot let's take a look at fourth round of Ekstraklasa games.

Górnik Zabrze 1-0 Ruch Chorzów Good result for the hosts in Grand Silesia Derby, after lovely free kick was converted by Mariusz Magiera. Quick game, many occasions for both sides... Another historical tie is behind us and this time it was low key, unfortunately. As long as in the region there will be no stadiums of even average class, this game will not rise to its occasion.

Jagiellonia Białystok 2-0 Lech Poznań Not only in the Premier League teams struggle after European ties... Lech was weak, slow and without an idea - Jagiellonia with quick wingers was by far the best team on the pitch and deservedly won at home to the current champions. Kupisz once again was dangerous, Frankowski was class, midfield line had impressive game and when Kamil Grosicki came on, the game had to be won by them. Was it the last match for Grosicki in Jagiellonia? After the game there was a talk that he was loaned out to Aris in Greece but nothing confirmed yet. But the player insisted that something may happen in next 48 hours.

Korona Kielce 1-0 Cracovia Fourth goal in this season from Niedzielan and he proves that he was worth every penny they paid Ruch Chorzów for the striker. It could easily end with more goals for the hosts but they low efficiency in front of the goal was a reason for their fans headache. It is horrible start for the guests, their Dutch project isn't working but Rafał Ulatowski has backing of the owner. For how long?

Lechia Gdańsk 2-0 Śląsk Wrocław It was route one on this day and guests made their worst appearance of the season so far. Their 4-4-2 was ripped apart by fast moving and wide 4-3-3 and the problem with lack of proper striker was not seen for a minute in Lechia ranks. Two nice goals but what were Śląsk midfielders doing? The answer is easy - they walked through this game and should be embarrassed.

Legia Warszawa 0-2 GKS Bełchatów Surprising result, isn't it? Great team performance from guests, played some wonderfully and simple football that showed every weakness in Legia team. Impressive from every GKS player but Legia was truly awful.

Widzew Łódź 0-0 Polonia Warszawa Current leader was stopped by Ekstraklasa newcomers but the game was boring. Both side did everything not to lose a goal first, and scoring was last in the mind of every player on the field. Goal achieved but not scored. Shame.

Wisła Kraków 2-1 Polonia Bytom New Wisła manager, Robert Maaskant made little changes to the squad as the result was far more important for him than the effect of the weekly training he had in Kraków. He won but it wasn't done in style required in Wisła, hopefully Maaskant knows it and will work on it harder. So were his words. Guests were scared but had a chance to get a point out of this game but are poor side and did not know how to manage that. And may be without manager in two weeks time.

Zagłębie Lubin 1-0 Arka Gdynia The longest half time ever? When the players went to the changing room, the lights went out for fifty-five minutes. Unfortunately, the game was no better in the second half, and the points were taken by hosts after young Wozniak scored after silly mistake from Arka center back. And the defence was supposed to be their strongest link...
