Polish Weekend #5

After two weeks international break and another disappointment from our national team form we are finally back to Polish football and league. We can safely hide in our little world of football and hope that better times are ahead of us. Three games for You to watch, my recommendation. Here it is.

Jagiellonia Białystok - Wisła Kraków (Friday, 20:00) Arguably the best team in this season hosts the team that lost the most: reputation, faith of the fans and a manager. But here is the new one, Dutch, Robert Maaskant - he had two weeks to prepare his team for this game and fairly few players were missed due to international action. And how did Michał Probierz, his opponent, handled the team during those days? We will see, it should be the best game this round.

Śląsk Wrocław - Lech Poznań (Saturday, 18:15) Hosts had two weeks but may be missing their leader, Sebastian Mila, who had minor injury after last league game. How will they cope without him, even though he didn't have the best of starts to this season? There might be even change to the tactics although it is not so likely to happen. There are more questions though - will Lech calculate before important clash with mighty Juve in Turin in few days? This might be in doubt as nobody expects from them to progress from their tough group and fans want the championship once again.

Polonia Warszawa - Korona Kielce (Sunday, 17:15) This may be the best time to face league leaders even though they play at home. Whispers became shouts, about problems between Jose Maria Bakero and Polonia chairman, Józef Wojciechowski. The latter was unhappy about decisions of the coach when he released the players for short break or/and picked wrong tactics. In Wojciechowski's eyes, of course. Word on the guests - they signed back full-back, Paweł Golański who recently played for Steua in Romania. And have Andrzej Niedzielan, player of the month in Ekstraklasa. Will it be enough to beat he leader?

Rest of the games Arka Gdynia - Widzew Łódź, Cracovia - Górnik Zabrze, GKS Bełchatów - Lechia Gdańsk, Polonia Bytom - Zagłębie Lubin, Ruch Chorzów - Legia Warszawa.
